CHALLENGE
With only 2,700 square feet of buildable space, the owner and architect needed to achieve an enhanced modern living lifestyle by taking advantage of the ocean views and integrating indoor and outdoor living. The project design needed to also have sustainable measures such as natural ventilation and daylighting.
SOLUTION
A major design feature to capture the modern theme throughout the home, architect Mark Silva, created a curved rear wall of the home, accented both top and bottom with windows and a curved LaCantina Clad-Wood bifolding door system to match the radius angle of the structure as well as to open up the entire rear patio allowing a 3 part solution to the project goals, enhancing the modern lifestyle, exploiting the ocean views, and integrating the sustainable qualities of the fresh air and natural daylighting.
